Goldman Sachs estimate cuts on financials

Reuters reports Goldman Sachs cut its Q3 estimates on financials. Goldman cut MS Q3 EPS to $0.85 from $1.10 (vs $0.91 consensus), cut MER Q3 loss EPS to ($4.75) from ($4.40) (vs ($3.78) consensus), cut LEH Q3 EPS to ($2.75) from $0.68 (vs $0.12 consensus), cut C Q3 EPS view to $0.00 from $0.17 (vs $0.10 consensus) and cuts JPM Q3 EPS to $0.40 from $0.64 (vs $0.50 consensus). Goldman says it favors going long on MS, short on C. Goldman also cut 2008 EPS for LEH to ($9.65) from ($2.10) (vs ($3.17) consensus) and says LEH will reduce its overall mortgage exposure by 20%, or about $15 bln, this quarter
