Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes to U.S. Indices
S&P MidCap 400 constituent CarMax (KMX) will replace XTO Energy Inc. (XTO) in the S&P 500, S&P SmallCap 600 constituent Acuity Brands (AYI) will replace CarMax in the S&P MidCap 400, and Medifast (MED) will replace Acuity Brands in the S&P SmallCap 600 index. S&P 100 & 500 constituent Exxon Mobil Inc. (XOM) is acquiring XTO Energy in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date, pending final approvals. S&P SmallCap 600 constituent Gardner Denver (GDI) will replace Palm (PALM) in the S&P MidCap 400 index, and Cogent (COGT) will replace Gardner Denver in the S&P SmallCap 600 index. S&P 100 & 500 constituent Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) is acquiring Palm in a deal expected to be completed soon, pending final approvals
